The project involves the demolition and reconstruction of an existing municipal school, funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The site, currently occupied by a primary school, is situated between two parallel streets with a significant elevation difference. Between the two school buildings, along the upper street, lies a large garden populated with mature trees. The goals are to create a modern, efficient, and sustainable school, while enhancing the existing green area to enable the potential unification of the two school complexes into a single public space. The design starts from the site's topography and natural features by positioning the new two-storey building along the lower street and establishing transverse connections across the site. The garden is divided into a common area and three enclosed spaces, each corresponding to one of the nursery school sections. It aligns with the main school entrance located at the upper level, which also houses the classrooms and shared areas. The lower level accommodates offices, technical rooms, and a parking garage, all accessible from the lower street.
