This ‘interior’ is part of one of the new residential buildings built in Bari by Netti Architetti in recent years. A spacious dwelling arranged on two asymmetrical levels intended for a family of four. The staircase connecting the floors appears to be made from a block of matter excavated on the first level to house the service closet at the entrance. Its presence, visible from every point, activates the space of the house and is the backdrop for the long room of living room that continues outside with the space from the loggia. As is also the case for the room reserved on the second level surrounded by the porticoed terrace, in the best tradition of the ‘Casa all’italiana’ (G. Ponti). Few materials, all natural origin, mediate the surfaces of contact between the stereometric space of the closed/open rooms and the human inhabitants.
