The new dwelling is set in the semi-peripheral urban area of Leipzig, Germany, near the city center. Specifically, the trapezoidal plot, identified by cadastral parcel 1042, is located on Kuchengartenstrasse, at the corner with Gabelbergerstrasse.
The integration of the new dwelling into the block is achieved through its compact volume, which is articulated over three levels. Two lateral volumes, one and two stories high, are attached to the main structure, shaping the simple and compact profile along Gabelbergerstrasse. The openings and permeability are oriented towards the pedestrian area.
In this space, the volume takes on a sinuous and rounded form to establish a connection with the exterior, visually linked to the internal gardens of the surrounding buildings.
The bow windows play a key role in bridging the private domestic spaces of the house (kitchen and bedroom) with the outdoor environment. Additionally, they serve as thermal greenhouses, enhancing the well-being of the inhabitants and contributing to energy savings.
