Campus bookstores and student centers are increasingly being reinvented as social hubs, blending services, food, and entertainment. Field Paoli helped UC Davis transform the Memorial Union into a vibrant center of student life, restoring the historic open floor plan while providing spaces to study, snack, and socialize. The games area replaced an outdated arcade, renovated the bowling alley, and added billiards, board games, and console/PC gaming zones. The expanded bookstore, offering a wide variety of merchandise, meets the needs of UC Davis’s growing student population. The project achieved LEED Gold certification in 2019.
