Field Paoli Architects is the lead consultant planner and architect for the San José–Evergreen Community College District Facilities Master Plan, a districtwide effort spanning more than 1.6 million square feet across three campuses including Evergreen Valley College, San José City College, and their Milpitas Extension Center. The long-range plan guides future investments to support student success, equity, sustainability, and evolving learning environments.
At the campus scale, the master plan reimagines each college as a cohesive, student-centered environment. The key goals include strengthening campus identity, improving accessibility and circulation, modernizing academic and support spaces, and enhancing outdoor environments to foster connection, learning, and community use. Sustainability and resilience are embedded throughout the plan, with strategies addressing energy performance, water use, climate readiness, and long-term adaptability.
The Facilities Master Plan positions the District to respond to changing enrollment patterns, funding opportunities, and academic priorities over time. The result is a cohesive, future-ready vision that reinforces the role of SJECCD campuses as inclusive, resilient educational and civic assets serving the greater Silicon Valley region.
