BCF Avocats d'affaires occupies five floors of a LEED Platinum certified tower in the heart of downtown Montreal. When the firm first consulted us, their workspaces had become compartmentalized, dark, and acoustically deficient, to the point of triggering departures among senior lawyers and difficulties in recruiting new talent.
Our first recommendation was to renovate rather than relocate, given the prestigious address, the quality of recoverable materials, and the breathtaking views over Montreal. The defining gesture of the project was to open up these view corridors for the benefit of all employees, radically transforming the daily experience of the 300 lawyers who work there.
The concept supports BCF's brand identity by integrating new collaborative work environments. The glass-enclosed library, reimagined as a work of art, embodies the balance between the traditions of the legal field and contemporary ways of working. Twenty-three conference rooms, a cafeteria, lounges, and over 300 pieces of furniture complete an ambitious program, complemented by the display of a private art collection of more than 200 works.
All of this was achieved across three continuous phases of construction, without ever interrupting the firm's operations.
