## Project Summary
*The Beacon of Elegance* is a bespoke entrance luggage kiosk designed by Create Architecture for **The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore**, transforming an essential operational function into a defining architectural experience. Conceived as a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional lantern, the installation elevates the moment of arrival into one of reflection, warmth, and quiet anticipation, embodying The Ritz-Carlton's philosophy of *"We are Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen."*
Positioned symmetrically at the hotel's main entrance, the sculptural screen balances monumentality with restraint. Standing three metres high and extending 6.8 metres on either side of the arrival forecourt, it establishes a welcoming threshold without overpowering the hotel's iconic architecture. Crafted from bronze metal, bronze mirrors, and glass, the composition uses light, transparency, and reflection as architectural materials, inviting guests to slow down and engage with the space. As visitors move through the installation, their reflections fragment and reform into layered compositions, capturing fleeting moments of arrival and transforming everyday movement into a curated experience.
Behind its understated elegance lies extensive design coordination and engineering precision. Comprising 699 individually fabricated modular components, integrated programmable lighting, concealed structural systems, and meticulously detailed finishes, the installation demonstrates how complexity can be distilled into remarkable simplicity. Every proportion, joint, material transition, and lighting sequence was carefully resolved to achieve a seamless expression that appears effortless while meeting the operational demands of a luxury hospitality environment.
More than a luggage kiosk, *The Beacon of Elegance* redefines the role of an entrance.
