AMETHYST is a three storey corner terrace with a basement and attic, conceived by Create Architecture as part of a Gemstone Series developed for the property. Drawing inspiration from the character and depth of amethyst, the design places emphasis on the emotional and experiential qualities of luxury living, seeking to create a home that is not only considered in its appearance, but meaningful in the way it is experienced.
The residence is planned around a layered sequence of communal and private spaces, with four living and family areas distributed throughout the home alongside six bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. A private lift connects the different levels, while the basement and attic extend the home beyond its primary living floors. Together, these spaces create a generous vertical environment designed to accommodate both moments of gathering and quieter periods of retreat.
Materiality plays an important role in establishing the home's atmosphere. Marble forms the flooring of the living, dining, family and dry kitchen areas, while wooden parquet brings warmth to the bedrooms and staircase. Granite is used across the yard, car porch and balcony, complemented by glazed porcelain tiles in the bathrooms and powder rooms. Within the living spaces, wooden elements are paired with a calming neutral palette, while natural daylight is introduced to enhance brightness and comfort.
The swimming pool extends along the side of the home, introducing water as a recurring element within the spatial experience. Its position alongside the boundary allows it to remain connected to the house while maintaining a degree of privacy, contributing a sense of calm and retreat within the residence.
The master suite continues the home's emphasis on light and serenity, with natural daylight creating a soft and revitalising atmosphere. In the master bathroom, a palette of cool greys is paired with frosted glass to allow natural light to enter while maintaining privacy. Across the residence, considered details such as the open riser staircase with integrated LED strips further contribute to the home's restrained and contemporary character.
