In an existing corner listed building in Athens, the two levels are separated in order to meet the needs of a law office with a workforce of 10 people.
With access either from the courtyard area or from the external marble staircase of the building, the reception, partner offices, the main meeting area, the chief lawyer's office and the auxiliary areas, kitchenette, wc, are located on the ground floor. In the semi-basement, respectively, there are six closed work offices and the auxiliary areas (kitchenette, storage room & wc).
The layout is based on the best internal communication of the offices by exploiting the view, either to the courtyard or to the street.
The existing morphological elements, ceilings, floors and wooden frames on the ground floor, brick and industrial flooring on the basement, defined the architectural style.
Glass partitions and library structures demarcate, shape and isolate the offices and individual functions of the law firm. The "bold" floor colors dictated the proportions and color for the glass dividers. They delicately converse with the decorative elements of the surfaces. The arched windows of the property with their specific proportions in combination with the enlarged internal height, allow natural lighting for the spaces.
Architectural lighting connects and highlights the elements of the building. Arches. Over doors. Embossed and uniform surfaces are projected, which together with the images and shadows frame the new professional space. A project with a purely introspective character. Combining the characteristics of an extrovert in a unique way.
