Prismatic configuration
An existing floor of two separate offices was refurbished and consolidated to meet the needs of Oinoussian Diamond Shipping Corporation.
An inner courtyard and the central axis of the Miaouli Coast Street constitute the only entrance points of natural lighting and ventilation.
Two corridors were created along the floor, in order to allow natural ventilation to penetrate the interior of the floor. Glass structures separate all the individual sections of the company's layout. At the same time, due to they are made of glass, they allow natural lighting to reach the offices. The office furniture is placed in such a way so as to maximize the view of the Piraeus Port. So, the sea view and the movement of the ships form the integral elements of the exterior with the interior.
Vertically designed stripes uniquely reflecting the company’s name, isolate the users while they allow unobstructed sea view.
Throughout the corridors, the materials and their textures alternate, giving unique features to the individual spaces. The chief's office and the meeting room are covered with vertical and horizontal wooden surfaces. The hue, the grain and the tone of the wood create a mystery in the two spaces, emphasizing and focusing on the meeting. The whitish stripes on the glass structures along with the company's white logo let a strong imprint on the visitor's subconscious.
The auxiliary areas connect the front offices with the staff restroom at the back. A space with different textures on the floor but also on the vertical surfaces. The furnishing serves a short break, but even a full staff meeting.
In conclusion, in a single level, there is a sum of different units with different characteristics and elements that frame the company's dynamics in Piraeus.
