Located at 2425 Reedie Drive in Wheaton, Maryland, the Centronia Child Care Services Headquarters is a 5,754-square-foot interior fit-out that transforms an existing tenant space into a vibrant, child-centered facility serving Montgomery County. The project accommodates five classrooms, a reception, multipurpose room, therapy room, staff room, and administrative office, complemented by two exterior playgrounds — one at ground level and a second elevated on the third floor — that extend active learning beyond the interior.
Moya Design Partners led the interior architecture for the full fit-out, providing programming, space planning, and design development across all environments. MOYA’s design approach translates Centronia’s child-centered mission into a warm, purposeful interior — where classroom layouts, material selections, and spatial sequencing are calibrated to support early childhood development, therapeutic care, and staff efficiency.
Complementing the architecture, MOYA developed the “Friends of the Forest” Environmental Graphics program, weaving illustrated woodland characters through corridors and therapy spaces to create a cohesive identity that orients young children and reinforces a sense of safety and belonging.
Delivered through a public-private partnership under a Negotiated Contract, the project was shaped by meaningful community engagement to advance equity and long-term community impact in Montgomery County. Broken ground in April 2026, the facility extends MOYA’s ongoing work with Centronia and its expertise in inclusive educational environments across the Washington DC/DMV Area.
