VEIL HOUSE
Veil House reinterprets a familiar element of Filipino architecture through a contemporary lens. Drawing inspiration from the timeless Capiz window, the project transforms this cultural motif into a layered veil of architectural sunscreens that temper daylight, enhance privacy, and define the home's distinct identity.
Rather than replicating tradition, the design abstracts it, translating heritage into a modern architectural language that responds to the tropical climate while preserving a strong sense of place. The permeable façade creates a dynamic interplay of light and shadow throughout the day, demonstrating how vernacular references can evolve into performative design elements.
Veil House explores the intersection of memory, climate, and innovation, proving that contemporary Filipino architecture can honor its roots while confidently shaping its future.
