DM 105 HOUSE
Designed as a home that breathes with the tropics, DM 105 House embraces climate-responsive architecture through a careful balance of openness, protection, and connection to nature. Natural light, ventilation, and greenery are treated as essential design elements, shaping a residence that feels both grounded and alive.
Deep overhangs provide passive protection from the tropical sun, while vertical slats filter daylight and allow air to move freely throughout the home. This layered façade creates a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, enhancing comfort while reinforcing the home’s architectural rhythm.
Set on a 512-square-meter lot, the residence is thoughtfully planned to accommodate seven bedrooms and three parking slots, responding to the demands of multigenerational living without compromising spatial quality. Earth-toned materials and natural textures anchor the structure within its landscape, creating a seamless dialogue between architecture and environment.
A defining feature of the home is its dark architectural palette, an intentional response to the client’s vision and design preference. Rich charcoal tones, muted finishes, and darker material selections lend the residence a sense of depth, sophistication, and quiet strength. Rather than overpowering the natural surroundings, the palette creates a striking contrast against the greenery, allowing both architecture and landscape to elevate one another.
At the heart of the design is a strong respect for the site’s existing conditions, most notably the preservation of the mature tree that stood long before the home was envisioned. Rather than building against nature, the architecture is shaped around it, allowing the residence to feel deeply rooted in place.
Defined by strong linear forms and understated elegance, DM 105 House offers more than shelter; it presents a sanctuary that is calm, secure, and deeply connected to its surroundings.
