FIKA PROJECT
Fika Project is a mixed-use space shaped by culture, intention, and everyday life, a three-storey coffee shop with fourth-level dormitory units that flow seamlessly into rest, work, and community.
As we studied the area, we noticed many buildings shaped mainly by necessity, generic boxes with a familiar “pwede na” mindset. This became an opportunity to explore “pwede pa,” designing with intention, clarity, and character. Thoughtful design builds trust, welcomes people in, and creates a lasting positive impact.
Inspired by "Hinulugang Taktak" in Antipolo, Philippines, the design translates flowing water into form, texture, and façade. Materials and movement create contrast, tell a story, and bring life, connecting the building to its site, nature, and visitors.
