NEW BODO CITY HALL
Type
The aim of this project is to create precise connections between the existing town hall, the bank and the new building, in order to identify this urban space as an architectural event able to socially and culturally characterize the city and its evolution.
Continuity and fluidity of public space.
According to this project public space is considered the soul of the city and it becomes the main element of the new building that offers new panoramic views thanks to a promenade starting from the ground floor and leading to the roof terrace.
Accessibility and functionality.
The paths connecting the public space, the existing town hall, the bank and the new building provide excellent functionality and flexibility; as a matter of fact the project is characterized by horizontal, vertical and oblique distribution systems connecting the various levels.
Context awareness, enhancement of the landscape and the environment.
The new building was added to the surrounding context taking into consideration the major alignments of existing buildings. The choice of materials aims to guarantee an optimum energy performance of the buildings and to enhance the landscape; titanium, which reflects the colours of the sky, has been used as coating material for the new building.
