Going beyond the conventional function of a staff canteen, AFOTECH Canteen - Bac Ninh has been envisioned by ICADVietnam as a contemporary dining space where functionality and aesthetics converge - enhancing daily experiences and revitalizing energy for employees.
To eliminate the monotony typically found in industrial environments, the architects made three key design decisions:
Breaking away from rigid, boxy layouts
Integrating Biophilic design (natural elements)
Preserving and reinforcing brand identity
Canteen Space
To free the space from the stiffness of a typical industrial canteen, a diagonal stripe pattern was consistently applied throughout the project - from table and seating layouts to ceiling design and wall décor. This approach not only increases spatial flexibility and optimizes circulation, reducing waiting times during peak hours, but also delivers a dynamic and modern visual experience.
Instead of a traditional enclosed ceiling, a large central skylight was introduced, allowing natural daylight to flood the entire canteen. Combined with abundant greenery distributed throughout the space, the canteen becomes cooler and more breathable, significantly improving air quality and eliminating the sense of confinement often associated with industrial interiors.
In addition, AFOTECH’s signature orange/red brand colors are subtly incorporated as energetic accents, helping to uplift the mood and morale of employees.
VIP Dining Room
In contrast to the vibrant and lively atmosphere of the main canteen, the VIP dining area is thoughtfully designed to offer a calm and refined environment. Large floor-to-ceiling glass panels maximize natural light while creating a strong connection to the surrounding nature. The interior features neutral tones and high-quality wood finishes, shaping a space that is elegant, professional, and warmly welcoming—ideal for hosting guests and important meetings.
