As Rightpoint Consulting’s business grew, so did its need for additional space.

Rightpoint Consulting is a digital agency based in Chicago, Illinois that employs a wide array of talents with a collection of working styles and needs. Its staff comprises an operations cohort, sales and business development staff, experts in programming and software development, and additional creative teams.

Collaboration among these expert groups is paramount to the organization’s collective success, yet each group has specific needs that allow them to work most effectively.

To provide the collaboration spaces required, the office was organized into neighborhoods, with the hub of each neighborhood occupied by the workstations for each expert group. Surrounding workstation zones are a variety of spaces for spontaneous, planned, small-scale collaboration, and alternative work settings.

To give each neighborhood a distinctive look and feel, each was zoned with a different floor color representing the Rightpoint brand. Collaboration areas mix the colors of the neighborhoods surrounding them. To further reinforce the Rightpoint brand, its logo was used a supergraphic on the café floor.

Project studios were designed to provide spaces for experts from each department to work collectively in a focused manner throughout the duration of a project. These spaces can be dedicated to a specific project when required, while remaining flexible enough to adapt to the next project.

Lastly, the office includes several meeting spaces, including conference rooms and a User Experience Center, for collaboration with internal teams, external consultants, and clients.

In contrast, it was also critical to provide opportunities for focus, privacy, and individual concentration free from distractions. To accomplish this, unassigned offices and phone booths were designed to provide areas for concentration, contemplation, and private phones calls. These spaces provide staff with the flexibility to work undisturbed. These shared spaces are sized to be comfortable for an individual to work privately.

The end result provides the dynamic environment sought by the Rightpoint staff.
