Restaurant Avenue 34/1 is located on the ground floor of the Azimut Hotel in St.Petersburg. With its clear lines and dark palette of colours, specifically designed by the architects Bruzkus Batek, it harmonises well with the Azimut Hotel Group’s overall architectural concept. The dividing wall between the kitchen and the dining room is cut open with generous horizontal apertures. Guests are entertained as they eat by a cookery performance, with the cooks brightly backlit with daylight, or silhouetted against the dark streetscape at night. The blackboard-painted wall to the kitchen was illustrated in collaboration with the artist Vladimir Silantyev. The white chalk artwork is inspired by Mediterranean cuisine and gives the room a relaxed and cheerful ambience. The bar, a block of white marble, stands in tension with the black wall to the kitchen. Behind it, a reflective wall of smoked glass optically extends the room.
Often seen as slightly old-fashioned, the sansevieria - arranged in large groups - give unexpected green accents to the space.
