MONOLITH WATER TABLE
Designer: Dominika Blažek
Firm: LABORATORYART
MONOLITH WATER TABLE is an object positioned between fountain, outdoor washbasin, and functional sculpture. Designed by Dominika Blažek for LABORATORYART, it is intended for wellness areas, spas, terraces, and private gardens, where the presence of water becomes part of the spatial experience.
The form is carved from a single block of natural travertine with a rough, split-face surface. The massive volume recalls an archaeological artifact or a fragment of landscape cut from stone. Within it, a linear water basin has been carved, crossed by a slender wooden insert that organizes the composition and emphasizes the elongated geometry of the piece.
A central stream of water falls directly into the stone basin, creating a soft sound and a calm rhythm. The object may function as a fountain, an outdoor hand-washing element, or simply as a feature that shapes the atmosphere of a relaxation space. The combination of raw stone, wood, and water refers to the language of Japanese gardens and spa architecture.
MONOLITH WATER TABLE is designed for luxury terraces, hotel wellness zones, courtyards, and private spa environments. Rather than dominating the space, it becomes a quiet focal point, introducing a sense of stillness, authenticity, and natural materiality.
