I’m Mahal at Tijara Fort, Alwar, reimagines a part of the Tope Mahal with a playful twist, to connect it with the modern world. Having converted into a not hotel-hotel, the space calls for a fresh aesthetic that layers the structure effortlessly, without making it lose its ties to the story behind it. The interior theme is centered around three key elements—the royal character, echoes of past conflicts and the strategic game of chess—the game that plays with power and conflict, much like the story. A dose of a fiery red speaks for its conflict and character alike while the blue becomes symbolic of the Royal Blue blood. The edgy colour scheme, along with robust silhouettes and clean lines lend a sharp contrast to the age-old construct of the space and open up an eclectic, quirky experience where a resident can imagine themselves as young royalty while unravelling its past—the times when the cannons were fired, wars were declared upon and the royalty, along with its glory, lived through it all.
