1 AQ opens an illustrious space for art, right within the heritage hub of Mehrauli, Delhi, breathing new life into the rudiments of an age-old residence, while giving a nostalgic canvas for art and culture to thrive. A century-old banyan tree that stood through time comes to be a fragment of that past, around which the freeflow of the gallery experience is layered seamlessly, creating an expansive choice for indoor and outdoor displays alike. The sculptural landscape builds onto the original artefacts found on site, leaving a trail of focal points that guide a visitor to the indoor gallery. The ambience is kept minimal and transitional—moveable partitions, connective bays and more draw a number of possibilities from the space, making it choicest for art festivals and other special curations.
