TWO Arquitetura developed the interior design for a residence located in Fazenda Boa Vista, a high-end countryside estate. Although the house was already built, the studio executed strategic architectural interventions—such as expanding the kitchen, creating a ground-floor home theater, and restoring degraded areas—to enhance and requalify the original structure’s weaker aspects. The interior design articulates a curated blend of contemporary furniture and antique pieces, prioritizing comfort and sophistication. Custom millwork and bespoke elements in wood and brass, designed by TWO, bring visual identity, elegance, and cohesion to the spaces, aligning aesthetics with functionality and timelessness throughout the project.
Designed by TWO Arquitetura, the interior project for Fazenda Boa Vista was born from a refined, curatorial perspective over an existing residence located in one of Brazil’s most exclusive countryside communities. While primarily focused on interiors, the studio’s work extended to subtle yet effective architectural enhancements—always respecting the home's original character—to improve spatial flow, functionality, and aesthetic integrity in areas that lacked strength or clarity.
The project’s core premise was to create a welcoming, elegant, and highly livable environment, where everyday life unfolds in comfort and visual harmony. Having already completed two projects with the client, TWO was entrusted with complete creative freedom, translating the house into a contemporary retreat with the spirit of a sophisticated farmhouse.
The design strategy centered on a nuanced dialogue between modernity and heritage. Carefully curated furniture collections combined modern pieces—such as those by Jader Almeida and sourced from Novo Ambiente—with select antique items, resulting in an interior language that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
Materials were chosen for their durability and practicality, suitable for a family home with a young child, yet executed with refinement. A neutral and natural color palette set the base, subtly enriched by tactile elements and understated patterns—like plaid, stripes, and chevron—that lend understated sophistication while maintaining warmth. Texture played a central role in the sensory experience of the home: upholstery, rugs, finishes, and fabrics were layered thoughtfully to create a cohesive and immersive environment.
In the kitchen, the brief was to enlarge and optimize functionality while preserving its noble aesthetic. The original Taj Mahal flooring and countertops were retained and integrated into new millwork featuring framed glass doors. This composition was elevated by central Ralph Lauren lighting fixtures, reinforcing a timeless, classic ambiance. In contrast, the adjacent dining area received a more elevated treatment: a custom-designed green lacquer sideboard with brass detailing, antique mirror, and wine storage sets the tone for the space. These features pair with a vintage table from Ethel and contemporary Jader Almeida chairs, blending rural charm with cosmopolitan sophistication.
The living room centers around a large custom shelving unit in wood and metal, designed to incorporate a fireplace, projector screen, and storage. Two Casual Móveis armchairs in rich chocolate tones, along with generous sofas, textured rugs, and a black marble coffee table from Vermeio, create a setting that favors both visual balance and physical comfort. Marquetry detailing on side tables echoes the craftsmanship seen in the dining room and master suite, establishing material continuity across the home. Woodwork, often inspired by mid-century modern design, was used not only for its timeless appeal but also to reinforce the warmth and tactility associated with countryside living.
In the master suite, the highlight is a bespoke marquetry panel designed by TWO. Beyond its aesthetic function, it conceals doors leading to the closet and bathroom, enhancing spatial fluidity. The composition of colors, lighting, and textures here captures the project’s essence: serene elegance that invites rest while exuding personality.
The gourmet area and outdoor spaces remained mostly untouched, with the exception of the barbecue area, where the island was reconfigured for improved usability. Furniture by Casual Móveis complements the indoor ambiance with the same level of refinement and comfort.
A distinctive and playful element was the introduction of a residential elevator, which did not exist in the original layout. The studio embraced this technical feature with creativity, wrapping the interior in a striking wallpaper, turning the vertical circulation into a delightful and unexpected sensory moment.
The Fazenda Boa Vista project exemplifies TWO Arquitetura’s core values: authorship in interior design, intelligent architectural refinement, and elevated aesthetic sensibility. The result is a home that reflects the client’s personality, honors its rural surroundings, and celebrates the art of living well—with comfort, character, and timeless sophistication.
