A versatile home for the whole family, a family of 4 people.
Couple with two children were looking for a distribution that covered their private and relationship areas between them.
The apartment offered us many possibilities, since it was completely exterior with three facades to occupy, it is also very bright because it is in the highest part of the building.
The program is very simple and the demands are not very high. Basically, a kitchen lounge space, two rooms - study for each of the children, a master bedroom with bathroom and a laundry space with storage space.
At a formal level it is distributed in three zones:
- The entrance, which corresponds to the kitchen space - living room. A completely open diaphanous space where there are no vertical separation walls. A place of coexistence where it is sought to promote the family's own meeting spaces in all kinds of moments and situations
- The corridor, with the two rooms of children and common bathroom, corresponds to the most compressed configuration. The bathroom is located between the two rooms due to functional and technical conditions and serves the children's bedrooms and the day area.
These bedrooms are spacious and complete rooms where children have their place of study and rest. The aesthetic responds to the criteria used for the rest of the house where the concrete structure seen and the finishes in light tones acquire their prominence.
- The last area, in which the house is extended again, corresponds to the laundry storage area and main room. It is this area, despite maintaining the same scheme as in the rest of the house, you also play a lot with the translucent materials. So you can say that you access a small lobby that gives way to the laundry and the main room marked by the differentiation in the pavement. In the main room, the position of the bed facing the window and resting on the partition that divides the bathroom is sought. This is a very fluid space and attached to the room, since it has no closing door and the enclosure is combined with translucent glass.
The pavement is dominated by eucalyptus wood and large-format ceramic in wet areas.
It is important to highlight that the space is stripped in most situations and, despite having a false ceiling, it is possible to see how the concrete structure crosses the different modules independently.
Artificial light seeks its prominence in a discreet manner and illuminates the different architectural spaces to emphasize those elements that interest us according to the time of day in a direct, indirect or residual way.
