As part of the Health Club Kalorias refurbishment in Linda-a-Velha, outskirts of Lisbon, the Children dressing rooms have undergone an extensive intervention, not only in the functional layout as in its aesthetic image.
Due to the change of use of some spaces and the replacement of existing functions to other areas, the available space enabled us to refurbish the entire dressing rooms, creating new areas with clear separate functions, such as dressing, showering and toilets.
All this in order to respond to the increasing of child users.
The undertaken constructive intervention was as far as the essential to define the different program areas, keeping as much as possible the existing structure of the building and taking advantage of it to define our design proposal.
You might notice the existing skylights, which are maintained and have become central elements of the refurbished spaces.
One of the programmatic requirements established the increase of the changing rooms’ user capacity.
On a conceptual level the aesthetic language strategy reflects a simple approach, supported by a chromatic study in order to identify the different spaces and users.
The introduction of geometric shapes in the passageways and the color walls contribute to the vitality and identity of the all scenario, resulting in an energetic and playful environment..
