CORE collaborated with EastBanc, Mitsui Fudosan, and Grimshaw on the 10-story ground-up multifamily development at 1630 Columbia Road.
The Silva offers 172 luxurious apartment units and high-end amenity spaces, including a resort-style rooftop pool, full service café/lounge, courtyard with fire pits and mature trees, fitness center, pet spa, and in-unit laundry, two stories of underground parking, secure bike storage, and electric vehicle charging stations. As Executive Architect, CORE communicated the design intent for construction, in collaboration with Grimshaw (Design Architect), which required developing and completing the construction documents, addressing the challenges of detailing a complicated façade and building layout, including resolving zoning/historic height limitations, and MEP requirements for the unique facilities layout. Moreover, CORE led the effort to provide an internal connection between The Silva and the existing Scottish Rite Temple building, delivering a new exterior wall penetration with underpinned foundations, new stair, and lift for loading.
