The "House Geode" project, was designed in Collaboration with Collage Architecture Studio.
This stunning contemporary home is located in the Kodihalli neighborhood of Bengaluru (Bangalore), Karnataka.
The project is widely recognized for its unique architectural features, particularly the dramatic green marble wall with concentric circle engravings, the sculptural wooden staircase, and the central, light-filled atrium that connects the various levels of the home.
The Residence is a masterful exploration of modern tropical architecture, creating a harmonious dialogue between built form and the natural environment. The design narrative is defined by its rich material palette, volumetric play, and a profound connection to the elements of light, water, and greenery.
At the heart of the home is a breathtaking double-height atrium, which serves as the central organising space. This volume is anchored by a dramatic feature wall clad in deep green marble, artfully detailed with concentric circles that evoke the serene image of ripples on water. This powerful statement piece is juxtaposed with the warmth of natural wood, which clads ceilings, screens, and a stunningly sculptural staircase. The staircase itself is a work of art, transitioning seamlessly from cool marble steps with integrated storage to solid wood treads, becoming a key feature of the home's vertical circulation.
The manipulation of natural light is a cornerstone of the design. Strategic skylights, large glazed openings, and slatted screens animate the interiors with a dynamic play of light and shadow. Externally, an innovative terracotta-tiled pergola creates a beautiful, filtered light effect on the patio, enhancing the indoor-outdoor living experience.
Water is used as a tranquil, unifying element, with a serene indoor water court featuring a Buddha sculpture and an outdoor lily pond that greets visitors upon entry. These features, combined with thoughtfully placed indoor plants and views of the surrounding landscape, cultivate a calming, resort-like atmosphere. Every space appears meticulously crafted, from the private, wood-lined sitting areas to the functional yet stylish home office, making the Srinivasalu residence a sophisticated sanctuary of contemporary design and natural tranquility.
