This space was created at an historic National Trust property as a means to foster a unique guest experience for top executives, celebrities and those willing to invest in an exceptional experience. The Presidential Suite was inspired by Pinehurst founder, James Walker Tufts’s transcendentalist belief in the transformative power of nature. The material palette was organic and sustainable to the degree possible and embodied numerous historical references to the original owner and his vision for the resort. Most of the furniture was locally made with key international suppliers used to add a sense global diversity. The client requested that the space feel residential in spite of its hospitality function and there is a strong sense of collections that permeate the 1800 square foot suite. A number of antiquities were collected for use in the space given its unique function for the hotel. While the overall feeling is one of having stepped back in time it is nonetheless fully equipped with state-of-the art electronics and bath features.
