In Onaiza, the ultra-prime villa quarter of Doha beside the Diplomatic Area, the Onaiza Arabic Classic Palace our team conceptualized rises in the Arabic classical manner, its elevation held to strict symmetry across a broad frontage. A tall entrance tower lifts at the centre between matched two-storey wings, the whole drawn in smooth cream limestone under a clear sky.
The centrepiece carries the grandest gesture. A monumental arched portal springs high up the projecting tower, its steep profile rising toward a point rather than a Roman semicircle, and fills with a full-height glazed screen patterned in circular geometric interlace — the girih tracery that gives the palace its Gulf-Islamic character. Colossal fluted pilasters rise the full height of the tower to a deep classical cornice, framing the arch and anchoring the composition. At its base, an entrance door sits under a radiating fanlight, approached by a broad flight of stone steps. Figural sculptures flank the stair, and paired spiral topiary in stone planters marks the rise toward the door.
The flanking wings answer in classical order. Arched-head windows fill both floors in matched pairs, echoing the central arch at domestic scale, while first-floor balconies open behind balustrades of turned balusters. A continuous cornice runs the width of each wing, and a balustraded parapet crowns the roofline, carrying the rhythm of the balusters from balcony to sky.
Cream limestone gives the palace its unifying calm, crisp and pale across every pilaster, arch and reveal, reading cleanly in the strong Gulf daylight. The classical body stays restrained and precise, its ornament held to the balustrades and cornices, so the soaring geometric arch commands the centre without competition. Symmetrical in plan, classical in its wings, and crowned by an Islamic arch that lifts the whole elevation to a single commanding gesture, the palace reads as architecture of full palace grade — refined in its stonework and unmistakable in its silhouette across this prime Doha quarter.
