In collaboration with Kasthall, Fyra has reimagined the brand’s Stockholm concept store - honoring its heritage while boldly looking ahead. The design embraces craftsmanship, sustainability, and emotional connection, creating an adaptive space that evolves with different needs.
Located at Ingmar Bergmans Gata 4 in Stockholm, Kasthall’s new concept store is a dynamic design destination, marking a shift from the traditional showroom model to an evolving concept store. Showcasing a significant part of the brand’s collections alongside Stockholm-based textile manufacturer Astrid and a selection of other like-minded products and brands, the space thoughtfully integrates Kasthall’s iconic woven and hand-tufted rugs with curated goods.
Craftsmanship is emphasized through material choices such as bespoke furniture made from untreated solid ash wood and ash veneer, while light surfaces ensure that the rugs remain the focal point. Through tactility, the natural colors of the materials, and a sense of elegance, the dialogue between the products and the space feels authentic.
Sustainability is at the core of the design, with a focus on durable materials, reuse, and modularity. Existing elements were preserved, refinished, and repurposed to minimize environmental impact. Driven by functionality, the renewed presentation pf the concept store sharpens the focus on the products, ensuring a thoughtful scope and flow. The versatility and breadth of the Kasthall and Astrid collections are highlighted through various displays. Following the structure of the space, large rugs hang from the ceiling, dividing the area into multiple "rooms within rooms," making it easy to adapt to various needs and moods.
At the heart of the space, a nine-meter-long table serves as a hub for work, mood boards, workshops, and dinner parties. As a visually striking element, it anchors the space, with all other functions gathering around it. With the versatile display, the space contributes a soft and inviting feel, evoking a sense of belonging. With a refined and distinctive atmosphere, Kasthall’s new home invites visitors to explore, interact, and be inspired - continuing the legacy of Swedish craftsmanship for new generations.
