Project Background
Following a significant contract acquisition, Europ Assistance anticipated substantial expansion of their Brisbane operations. To support this growth trajectory, the organisation required a new workplace that could accommodate their scaling workforce and operational requirements while fostering organisational culture and values.
Amicus was commissioned to design and deliver a high-performance, adaptable workspace that would function as both a collaborative hub and an embodiment of Europ Assistance's global principles of care, innovation, and responsiveness.
Design Solution
The project brief identified intensive meeting schedules and collaborative workflows as primary spatial drivers. The design response incorporated a comprehensive suite of enclosed meeting rooms, focus spaces, and breakout areas strategically distributed across the floorplate to optimise circulation patterns and minimise operational conflicts.
Acoustic performance was prioritised throughout the design, with specialised treatments implemented to enable concurrent meetings without audio interference. This approach ensures confidentiality and productivity while supporting the client's high-volume meeting requirements.
Technology integration was seamlessly woven into the architectural framework, with each meeting space equipped with sophisticated audiovisual systems and connectivity infrastructure to facilitate both in-person and remote collaboration. The design team coordinated these technical elements to maintain aesthetic coherence while delivering optimal functionality.
Recognising the importance of organisational culture, the design incorporates a flexible communal zone that transitions from casual dining space to large-group assembly venue for company-wide events and social functions. This multipurpose area serves as the cultural anchor of the workplace, facilitating informal interaction and team cohesion as the organisation scales.
