Project Overview
Built on years of successful collaboration, Amicus was engaged by FMH Group to design and deliver their new Melbourne office. The brief called for a contemporary reimagining of their workplace that would honour the company's culture while supporting the evolving needs of their team.
The vision was clear: create a space that balances operational efficiency with flexibility, encourages collaboration, and authentically reflects FMH Group's values. Drawing on deep knowledge of the client's operations and culture, Amicus set out to deliver a workspace that elevates the everyday experience.
Design Response
Amicus approached the project holistically, with Design and Delivery teams working in unison to maximise the potential of the base building. The space's dramatically high exposed ceilings and abundant natural light became defining features, creating an expansive, energised atmosphere throughout.
Rather than viewing the ceiling heights as a constraint, the design team embraced them as an opportunity. This thinking manifested in striking front-of-house meeting spaces that deliver rare scale and presence, enhanced by biophilic elements and custom acoustic treatments in the boardroom that marry atmosphere with performance.
The spatial journey was carefully choreographed. Visitors transition from an intimate reception into the light-filled expanse of the main workspace—a deliberate contrast that creates impact. Throughout the office zones, wall heights establish a clear datum line that responds to the building's architecture, creating visual continuity and grounding the interior within its shell.
Project Outcomes
The completed workspace embodies FMH Group's core values of efficiency and care. Streamlined functionality meets thoughtful design detail across collaborative zones, client-facing areas, and open work settings. The result is an environment that strengthens company culture, enables seamless collaboration, and delivers a memorable experience for both team members and visitors alike.
