Producers supplying the chocolate brand Dengo facilitated our initial engagement with cocoa farming. On a farm in Ilhéus, we learned about the specificities of the Cocoa Stations: what they are, their purpose, and their technical requirements – such as the need to control temperature and humidity for fermentation troughs. Taking inspiration from "cabruca" – the cultivation process where cocoa trees grow under the shade of taller canopies – the chosen site for implementation was a clearing surrounded by the forest, ensuring the necessary shade and avoiding deforestation. In a modular solution, blocks are arranged alternately along a covered circulation route, harmonizing with the landscape: a nod to the natural cocoa color palette, with a strong presence of wood and shades of red and green.
