CORE worked closely with May Riegler to create a sophisticated design for 175 residential units and the amenity spaces. A warm, modern approach was taken, prioritizing finishes with substance and attention to detail. Some raw materials balance the design, so that a relaxed and familiar mood prevails. The lobby of the building was envisioned much as a hotel lobby with a coffee café, which ultimately flows into the adjacent “culinary clubhouse” The Roost, also designed by CORE. The fitness center, located on the second floor, abuts the rooftop pool and is connected by a gracious operable wall. A small indoor/outdoor bar in this area creates a dual-purpose fitness refreshment area and venue for residents to host poolside functions. The clubhouse on the 7th floor, taking inspiration from a modern lodge in an urban setting, provides another indoor/outdoor experience with expansive views of the Capitol Building. A warm and airy palette was used to enhance the open feeling of the residential units with their expansive floor to ceiling windows. To reinforce the modern look, the kitchen cabinet style is a flush face design, and the backsplash of the kitchen was cleverly built to take advantage of depth within the wall providing a recessed ledge to maximize storage.
