The Applied Science Hub, an 8,700 sq. m. building housing state-of-the-art facilities, addresses the need for space resulting from the expansion of Concordia University’s research, innovation, and education activities in the sciences.
Designed to foster alliances with external partners, such as the biomedical, bioproducts, and nanomaterials industries, this new building adheres to eco-responsible design principles and has earned LEEDⓇ Gold certification. This aligns perfectly with the research conducted there, which focuses primarily on sustainable development and climate change.
With its exterior entirely composed of reflective glass, the Applied Science Hub stands out for its almost ethereal appearance. It does not compete with the other massive, masonry-built buildings surrounding landscaped courtyards, such as those found at Yale or Harvard.
