This space, so large that it occupies an entire city block, was old and needed fresh life. It is also located on a lower floor giving limited access to daylight. Light finishes and dramatic lighting of amenities areas were added to liven up this project. Brighter areas are contrasted with darker areas, sometimes within the same space, and sometimes as a transition from one space to another. And lighting is carefully integrated into the construction to reinforce larger architectural gestures without creating distraction. Finally, enhanced lighting efficiency helped this project obtain LEED gold certification.
