1181 Queen Street West is a 15-storey residential condominium that acts as a gateway to Toronto’s Queen West neighbourhood.
Completed in 2024, the 132,000-square-foot development features 121 boutique residences, 7,500 square feet of retail at grade, and wellness-focused amenities, including a mezzanine gym and an outdoor courtyard.
The wedge-shaped building responds to its triangular site with a sculptural, terraced form that minimizes sidewalk shadowing while framing the historic Gladstone Hotel. The irregular floorplates offer large, unique residential units, providing an alternative to single-family homes. A neutral silver-grey brick façade harmonizes with the heritage context. Sustainability is a key focus, with green roofs, stormwater management strategies, and a transit-oriented location.
By integrating retail and pedestrian-friendly design, 1181 Queen Street West enhances the vibrancy of Queen West while contributing to the neighbourhood’s social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
