CG Tower represents the capstone of the ambitious Expo City development in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC). This 60-storey tower is a collaborative vision between BDP Quadrangle and Cortel Group, serving as a new urban landmark designed with a human-centred approach to architecture and community planning.
Distinct from the glass-clad high-rises typically seen in the Greater Toronto Area, CG Tower features a striking façade of richly toned brick embedded in precast concrete panels with factory-installed windows, giving the exterior a warm, residential character while enhancing thermal performance. The design incorporates stacked, cantilevered boxes that create a dynamic, stepped profile. These cantilevers, carefully designed by BDP Quadrangle, add visual rhythm to the façade and break up the tower’s verticality while offering expanded terraces for residents. These terraces are thoughtfully programmed with a variety of amenities, encouraging vertical movement, fostering smaller communities and transforming the tower into connected vertical neighbourhoods, complete with shared spaces for relaxation, gatherings and activities. Oriented to face Edgeley Pond Park, the cantilevers maximize natural light and scenic views, reinforcing a seamless connection between the built environment and natural heritage. This bold and innovative design distinguishes CG Tower from its surroundings and solidifies its role as a landmark and vibrant hub of urban living in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.
