This transformative mixed-use development uniquely intertwines affordable housing with leading-edge sustainable practices, meeting the prestigious CaGBC Zero Carbon Green Building – Design Standard. It stands as a model for environmentally responsible development while addressing the urgent need for affordable and accessible housing.
The project uses a modular precast system consisting of structural columns, beams, floors, and exterior cladding panels with preinstalled windows in Tower D. Additionally, careful planning allowed for the optimization of the structure and mechanical systems in Tower A, these strategies, in addition to both passive and active strategies, ensured compliance with embodied carbon reduction goals and overall sustainability objectives.
With residential and commercial spaces, the redevelopment seamlessly integrates into the existing and future context of the area. At the heart of this development is the creation of a new public park and community space, poised to become a vibrant gateway into this burgeoning neighbourhood. These community amenities will foster a smooth transition from the project site to the broader community, symbolizing the harmonious blend of sustainable living with urban growth.
