BDP Quadrangle was both the architect and interior designer for Gallery Towers (HS2), a landmark mixed-use residential development in Downtown Markham. The master-planned urban centre was also designed by BDP Quadrangle. Located beside the VIVA rapid transit corridor, the project is within walking distance of Unionville GO Station, Markham Civic Centre, York University’s Markham campus and Rouge Valley parkland. The development features two residential towers of 24 and 38 storeys rising from a shared mid-rise podium, carefully staggered to maximize views, daylight and privacy. Active retail frontages, residential lobbies and townhouse entries animate the streetscape, while recessed ground-floor areas create generous sidewalks and a pedestrian-friendly scale. Warm masonry cladding, rounded corners, articulated balconies and a seventh-floor amenity terrace establish Gallery Towers as a defining addition to Downtown Markham’s skyline.
The project features warm, refined interiors inspired by boutique hotel environments and an elevated sense of everyday luxury. Elegant lobbies combine sculptural forms, wood detailing, stone finishes and feature lighting to create a welcoming and memorable arrival experience. Amenity spaces are designed as lifestyle destinations, including a fitness centre, wellness lounges, entertainment rooms, dining areas and a theatre that support wellness, social connection and relaxation. Corridors, elevator lobbies and washrooms extend the same cohesive palette with calm, gallery-like detailing and carefully considered finishes. Within the private suites, multiple finish palettes range from light and contemporary to rich and dramatic, allowing residents to personalize their homes. Together, these interiors create a sophisticated environment that enhances everyday living.
