On a narrow plot in Bagnolet, at the edge of Paris, this timber rooftop extension adds a full storey to a small urban house. The prefabricated timber frame was craned in and assembled in a few days, keeping the house inhabited during the works. The facade plays on a vibration of vertical wooden slats, openwork in front of the windows, closed elsewhere, so the volume reads as a single abstract crown above the existing masonry. Delivered in 2020.
