Standard Chartered Bank defined Interaction and Collaboration as key design principles for their new premises with the aim of enhancing the working and learning experience. The Woodhead Design addresses this by providing planning which enhances communication within and across business units, promoting opportunistic meetings and ensuring a more collaborative and connected team environment. A wide choice in the style and configuration of work areas within the workplace is provided, utilising standard components to provide efficiencies.
Another key objective of the design is to integrate the strong International culture of the bank into the fabric of the workplace. It was determined that the new workplace needed to reflect a culture that is strongly multi-cultural in its makeup - something which is very apparent in Singapore, but that it also needed to maintain an International focus based upon some of the bank’s major areas of business – namely Africa, Asia & The Middle East.
The workplace design adheres to the basic principles of delivering effective, efficient, healthy, safe, secure and comfortable environments, which
support work-flows and processes. The workplace design delivers a pleasant, supportive, energetic environment that reduces stress and raises mood, and is used as a means of communicating brand values through the building fabric as a more immediate, tactile and emotional expression, so as to create a more potent message that connects with customers, employees and the broader community who experience the workplace.
