Energy, as an activity, a force of action, and the capacity to perform physical exercise, also, as a natural resource, is highly suggestive for its use as a project argument for the realization of the Telde sports center. Therefore, movement becomes the leitmotif for the form and function of this project. Adequate and precise connections promote the mobility of the ensemble, integration, and organizational flexibility. In response to these starting objectives, we find in the energy of connection the first key for the design of the sports center: an intervention capable of exchanging energy with its surroundings, loaded with dynamic interactions. The building is charged with enthalpy, in continuous release and absorption of energies.
The conception of the building with passive architecture criteria and the application of new technologies have achieved maximum efficiency. Orientations are valued in the general volume, so that the east and west facades are closed with textured exposed concrete walls, while those of the north dihedral are resolved with larger glass surfaces. On the south facade, a strip of deep glass is opened to enhance the building's relationship with the view of the Telde coast.
