The LLD—Autism Classroom Conversion resulted from the conversion of a 1,400 s.f. early childhood classroom. The design of the room provides flexibility in a multi-functional space that offers optimal supervision.
The design of the space incorporates rubberized flooring that offers protection from falls and soft tones and warm colors that provide an inviting atmosphere and little distraction. A
dividing partition creates three distinct areas of instruction including a General Classroom, Socialization space, and an Occupational and Physical Therapy area. There is also a Kitchenette/Life Skills area and Toilet/Life Skills Area.
Finally, a quite room provides a place for students to interact one on one with the teacher or if necessary find solace from the goings on in the classroom.
