Pinehurst is widely known as the “Queen of American Golf,” but it is also a place of quite repose where one can reconnect with nature and enjoy the charm of an eclectic blending of New England architectural styles. This turn of the century eclecticism was the inspiration behind the recently renovated East Wing of the Carolina Hotel, a National Trust property at the heart of the resort. Drawing upon nature motifs and using a color palette that recalls autumn in New England the design team at Glavé & Holmes sought to create an inviting and relaxed setting. Historical images from the Tuft’s Archives remind guests of the resort’s long and unique history.
