The renovation project for "Baan Phanu," a family home where multiple families live together, started with the need to address several issues with the original house. These include roof leaks, birds nesting under the eaves, and insufficient living space, as family members require more room for various activities.
A key aspect the homeowner emphasized to the architect is the desire to preserve and reuse as much of the original materials as possible, such as wooden windows, stairs, second-floor wooden flooring, and original wardrobe doors. This is because the house holds many memories, especially since it was built by their late father, who has passed away.
Once the renovation is complete, the house will feature a blend of the old structure and the new improvements, with a significant portion of the original elements retained to preserve the home's original atmosphere as much as possible.
