In the new Culemborg expansion district “Parijsch”, 19 new houses will be located on the banks of the water. This bank will be set up as a park with trees, play facilities and walking paths. We have designed the 19 homes in such a way that this quality can be maximally utilized. They have a width of no less than 8 meters, which means they are maximally south-facing and have a panoramic view over the park and the banks.
In order to generate natural sun protection on the south side, the ground floor has a small overhang. Thus the sun is stopped in the summer while it shines in the winter. The adjoining building is located on the north side of the house. By allowing the floor to jump back on this side, a better distance is created to the adjacent buildings.
The width of the house ensures maximum flexibility for the residents. Do you want the kitchen on the park side or on the front? Do you want the terrace as an extension of the living room or as an extension of the kitchen? Everything is possible!
Two types will be built; two-levels (A) and three-levels (B). Due to this height difference in combination with the shift of the floor, a dynamic composition is created. The five building blocks each have their own configuration, making each building block unique. The houses are optionally offered as energy-neutral.
