This project involves the renovation of a 25 sq.m office located in the center of Athens. The main challenge was to organize a very compact space that could include three workstations, sufficient storage, and a small waiting area for clients and visitors.

The design is based on an open-plan layout, with a central shared worktable that brings together the three workstations. This approach frees up the perimeter of the office, allowing all storage units and custom-made furniture to be placed along the walls. The overall design draws inspiration from industrial architecture. Mechanical and electrical installations remain visible on the ceiling, while custom metal elements reinforce the industrial character of the space. A grid of approximately 70 × 70 cm was used as the main design principle, helping to organize both the geometry of the space and the details of the furniture and built-in elements.

The grid is first expressed on the ceiling through a metal framework with perforated metal panels that integrate the lighting fixtures. This system visually unifies the ceiling while keeping the technical installations exposed.

The same design language continues on the walls. Behind the workstations, a custom storage system combines closed cabinets, open shelving, and a notice board. On the opposite side, a small reception and waiting area is combined with an entrance coat rack, while a compact kitchenette with additional storage is placed along the shorter side of the floor plan.

The design extends to the shared balcony outside the office, where custom metal furniture follows the same visual language as the interior. Movable benches and planters allow different layouts and encourage flexible use of the space. This approach supports a more social and collaborative outdoor environment that can also be shared with neighboring offices.

The material palette was intentionally kept simple and neutral. Floors and walls create a calm background that highlights the custom-designed elements. Metal structures are finished in a vibrant blue color, while storage units feature natural oak surfaces that add warmth and balance. The central worktable remains white, providing a clean and visually calm focal point. Dark orange accents on the seating and lighting fixtures introduce contrast and complete the overall color palette.

The project demonstrates how a very small office can become a functional and flexible workplace. Through a clear design strategy and a consistent system of custom-made elements, the space responds to everyday needs, while creating a contemporary, welcoming, and distinctive working environment.
