APARTMENT IN METAMORPHOSI, ATTICA
Attica, Greece
A three-bedroom residence was designed for a new family in an apartment located in Metamorfosi, Attica, in a building from the 1990s.
The apartment does not have a separate storage space, which created the need for additional wardrobes and storage areas where this was functionally and synthetically possible. Functionally, the existing layout of the spaces was maintained, while the uses within the open-plan area were rearranged on a white multifunctional piece of furniture that begins at the entrance, passes through the kitchen, and ends in the living room, with a cohesive "language" both in terms of form and materials.
Regarding the materiality, the proposal is driven by the philosophy of the "white canvas," which serves as the backdrop to welcome the family's paintings, personal memorabilia, and books.
Additionally, the white surfaces and the light wood tones chosen for the open entrance-living-kitchen area allow the diffusion of natural light, which enters through the large single opening on the north side of the space. This enhances the reflection of natural light within the area.
