The NCC Athletics Stadium is inspired by Mount Pinatubo and the intricate frame details of Pampanga parols, reflecting a synthesis of natural and cultural forms. As the first major government-constructed sports hub in the Philippines since the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex (1934), the stadium occupies a 25,000 sqm footprint and accommodates 20,000 spectators. Its facilities include a nine-lane 400-meter track and field, a four-lane warm-up track, and a 400 m nine-lane standard athletics oval. Certified as a Class 1A Athletics Facility by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), it is the first in the country to achieve this rating. Completed in a record-breaking 18 months for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, the design exemplifies heritage-inspired architecture, structural efficiency, and world-class sports infrastructure.
