Innsbruck, Austria
The basic idea was to awaken the Weiherburg from its slumber. By means of a three-part concept from the Alpine Zoo with the highlight of presenting exhibitions in the castle, the Weiherburg is made accessible again.
The architecture of the museum was developed as a restrained, supporting element. New contemporary elements are integrated into the listed substance as a "space shell" together with flexible furniture. New connections could be established in cooperation with the Federal Office for the Protection of Monuments in order to strengthen the existing structure or to play freely with it.
Annual changing exhibitions will show the diversity of the natural science collections, all exhibits are from the stock of the Tyrolean Provincial Museums.
